Non-Profit Blog Carnival: Thinking Bigger in Fundraising (Call for Submissions)

2015 is just around the corner. If you’re like most fundraisers, you’re probably starting to make plans for the coming year… how much you plan to raise, which tactics you want to add to your arsenal, how to grow your annual event…

Yet, if history is any indicator, far too many of us will be thinking small about our fundraising for the coming year. I can’t tell you how many non-profits I speak to that tell me they want to increase fundraising by 2% next year or that they want to find 3 new sponsors for their annual gala.

Fundraisers, here’s your wake-up call: your non-profit does great work, and it deserves to raise dramatically more money this year that last year. The more you raise, the more people you can help. So, why are so many organizations stuck in “small ball” thinking when it comes to development?

Let’s Show ‘Em How it’s Done!

This month, I am honored to be hosting the December 2014 Non-Profit Blog Carnival. We’re focusing this month’s carnival on how fundraisers, executive directors, boards, and non-profit organizations can think bigger about fundraising this coming year. And I need your help!

We need your articles and blog posts on how to get non-profits thinking bigger about raising more money in 2015. Your article could be motivational (getting fundraisers excited about thinking bigger), it could be instructional (teaching organizations how to think big about fundraising, or about a certain fundraising tactic), it could be a case study about an organization thinking bigger… whatever you want to write (or have already written) about how to shake up the status quo and get non-profits thinking bigger about development then ever before.

Here’s How to Submit Your Article or Blog Post:

  1. Write a new blog post or choose one that you have already posted that fits this month’s theme
  2. Submit your post via email to: nonprofitcarnival@gmail.com – be sure to include your name, your blog/website’s name and the URL of the post (not your blog homepage)
  3. Get your post in by the end of day on Monday, December 29th. Then, check back on Tuesday, January 6th when we’ll post the round-up with the articles that were submitted

What Is a “Blog Carnival?”

A blog carnival is a monthly round-up of articles and blog posts on a specific topic. Each month, the host creates a theme and sends out the call (in a post like this) for articles on that topic. Then the host collects the submitted posts together and offers these up in a round-up post towards the end of that month.

You can sign up for e-mail reminders about the Non-Profit Blog Carnival at http://eepurl.com/tbGNb. To learn more, check out What Is the Nonprofit Blog Carnival? and the Nonprofit Blog Carnival Archives.

You can find November’s Non-Profit Blog Carnival by clicking here.

Remember – to be included in this month’s round-up, send me your post/article by December 29th – you can e-mail it to me at nonprofitcarnival@gmail.com.
